Anything Goes - Weeks #645-646

Here we are at the end of April already.  Yikes!  Time flies by so quickly.  We're beyond delighted to have you join us for another FUN challenge.  We have another lucky winner, a wonderful sponsor, some great inspirational art, a brief devotional to encourage you, and a fun challenge waiting for you.  It's always so much fun seeing the fabulous cards and projects you create to share with us.  We are grateful for each of you, and we wouldn't have a challenge blog without you.  Thanks, everyone.  You're really the best.

The beautiful scripture word art for this challenge is an encouraging passage found in the Book of Jeremiah, Chapter 17 and verse 10.  It reads, "I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man, according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings".  This verse reminds us that God looks directly into our heart.  NOTHING is hidden from God, and we can't fool/trick God by trying to convince Him that we didn't do wrong or that we didn't commit a sin.  Not only does God know all our sins; but as this verse references, God also knows the intentions of our heart.  Praise God that He has paid the price for our sins (through the shedding of His innocent blood and conquering death) and that we can (should) confess our sins to Him and ask for forgiveness.  The Bible assures us that God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and that He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  But this verse reminds us that it doesn't end there.  While it's important to confess and be forgiven (praise God), the LORD looks upon our insides (He says in this verse, "I try the reins") to the depths of our heart where He reads the intentions of our heart and where He learns how we're REALLY dealing with our sins.  We will all sin.  That's just a fact.  What matters is that we first confess our sins (He knows it ALL anyway), that we ask for forgiveness, and finally; that we change our ways and do our best to not commit the same sins ever again.  God wants to know that we are, in the deepest parts of our being, trying to become what He wants from, and for, each of us.  Living according to God's ways will BLESS us and is what will allow us to "bear good fruit".  God loves you.  God wants to forgive you and help you live a good, blessed and holy life, and to allow you to bear good fruit.  Talk with Him.  Know that when God looks on YOUR heart that He will be pleased with what He sees.  We're each a work in progress, but let's show God and the whole world that we are living for Him, doing what brings glory and honor to His holy name, and bearing good fruit that represents His blessings upon our lives.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - Weeks #643-644

Welcome by, everyone!  How exciting is this?  Someone has just WON a fabulous $50 prize to a wonderful company, and we have yet another fabulous sponsor for this new challenge.  If you didn't win this time, don't give up.  Please keep trying by playing along with us.  Your turn to win will come, I'm sure.  Please know that we consider you all winners, and we're super grateful for the art you share with us.  Thank you for playing along in our challenges.  You're such a blessing to us and we appreciate you.

The beautiful word art scripture is Luke 18:1 which says, "And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint".  Now, this word "faint" doesn't mean to get light-headed and pass out.  But rather, the verse is encouraging us to pray always and not to ever lose heart or give up.  God will NEVER grow tired of hearing us pray (talk to Him and ask of Him).  In fact, this verse reminds us to NEVER give up on our prayers.  It's telling us to pray in every situation, for every circumstance, problem, issue and struggle we encounter.  It's also saying that we shouldn't be discouraged if and when we don't see an immediate answer.  God's answers don't always come immediately.  Sometimes we need to pray about something over and over, perhaps even for many years.  Another verse that mentions this same theme is Colossians 4:2 which tells us to "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving", so remember this theme of persisting continually in prayer with alertness (watch) and with thanks.  Don't ever feel that you're "nagging or bothering" God.  He absolutely LOVES and WANTS to hear from us.  He wants us to live our lives in accordance with His Word.  As we do this and draw closer to Him, sometimes He answer our prayer (how we desire) and sometimes He simply changes our desires.  Either way, we find peace, contentment and joy through this process.  So, next time you're going through a dark valley, KEEP PRAYING.  Don't give up, don't lose heart, and don't stop praying.  The answers are coming, and God's answers are always perfect.

Anything Goes - Weeks #641-642

Welcome back by, everyone.  It's time for another FUN challenge here at Word Art Wednesday and we have something extra exciting for this challenge.  A new sponsor to us this year is the wonderful Trinity Stamps, and they are offering up a very generous prize.  We're always grateful for our awesome sponsors, and we encourage you to stop by these amazing companies to support them - or at a minimum, to look around and leave them a comment thanking them for supporting our crafting community.

Our devotional today focusses on the scripture John 1:4 which reads, "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men".  This verse proclaims Christ's role as the giver of life.  The writer, John, refers to Jesus in this verse as "the light".  To a Hebrew at that time, light was the ultimate value.  This verse means that Jesus is the source of the fountain of both natural and spiritual life, and that He has the same attributes as God.  John also emphasizes fellowship with both the Father and the Son, and his purpose for writing this letter was to make their mutual joy complete.  You and I are also being offered this same "light" which we clearly see is "the light of men" and our only hope of having eternal fellowship with God.  Any time you, or someone you care about, is going through a "dark" time in life, you/they can find the "light", the hope and the joy that only God can offer.  Don't let our enemy (Satan) steal our light, our hope or our joy.  Simply call on God, tell Him you want to experience His light, His hope and His joy.  It will make ALL the difference and God WILL take you from the darkness into His wonderful light.
