Challenge #284-285 - Anything Goes

Welcome back, everyone!  And if you're new to Word Art Wednesday, welcome to you as well.  We're so glad you've stopped by to play along with us.  We have our fabulous primary sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, with us for this challenge.  There's also a brief devotional, a beautiful piece of word art, and lots of fun planned for everyone; so...let's get started.

Psalm 42:1 says, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God".  The word (hart) is not misspelled.  It's from the (KJV) King James Version, and actually is spelled correctly.  The word "hart" refers here to an adult male deer (and is translated so in most other versions of the Bible).  This verse is painting a picture of these animals vigorously thirsting for water; and finally being quenched when they find the water brook.  The picture continues to compare how, in much the same manner, our own hearts and souls (as humans) thirst for God.  When we're really physically thirsty, it's almost like we can't get enough water sometimes.  We just keep drinking and drinking.  God's Word, His comfort and love through the Holy Spirit, and His eternal promises are much the same.  Once we know Him and love Him, we simply can't get enough of Him.  Our souls will long for Him and we will want to "drink" from water (God) that can eternally quench, just as the deer longs for its needed water.  The beautiful thing is that we can sit and "drink" all day and all night.  We can fill ourselves with His knowledge, His goodness and His love, and find exactly what our souls need most...ALL in Jesus!

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

Challenge #282-283 - Anything Goes

It's time for a brand new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday, and we're so glad you've joined us.  We have THREE amazing sponsors....we have one prize that can be for any winner (US, UK, other) from our friends at Stix2Anything in the UK, one for our players here in the Continental US and Canada from The Kraft Outlet, and another prize for those playing along everywhere and anywhere in the world from Bugaboo Stamps.

Our word art file for this challenge is from the scripture Genesis 28:15 which says, "And behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of".  Wow, that's a long verse; but God is simply telling us that He is the true God who is with us always and keeps us safe no matter where we go, and no matter what happens.   Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus the Son, and God the Father we receive all of Him...the best of which will be when we see Him in heaven one happy day.  What a blessing to hear God tell us the words "I am with thee".  There's no other religion on the face of this earth that worships any god, any one or any thing tha

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. Challenge #280-281 - Anything Goes

Welcome back again for a brand new challenge here at Word Art Wednesdays.  We had some unclaimed prizes, so there are lots of winners today.  We also have our primary sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, back as our generous sponsor again this challenge.  Lots of fun awaits you all, and we thank you for sharing your amazing art with us.  We wish you all the very best of luck in the random draw.  Let's get started.

Our word art was created with a passage from Psalm 5:11 which says "But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them:  Let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee".   Of course, once we've placed our trust in Jesus Christ, we have SO MUCH to rejoice about.  We have eternal life through His sacrifice for our sins, we have His Holy Spirit Comforter to stay close, assist and intercede for us, we have the duty and privilege of great joy in knowing and serving Him in our daily walk, and we have the fellowship and blessings that come from being part of the Family of God.  We are SO blessed to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have eternal life with Him in a beautiful place that nobody can even comprehend or imagine.  It's awesome to think about how He, the great God and Creator of this universe, loved us SO much that He came to sacrifice His own life for ours.  It's nothing less than AMAZING how He loves us despite the fact that we are sinful and unworthy of His gift.   We are truly blessed by what He did for us.  This verse goes on to further encourage us to "shout for joy".  We should do this often and make it a way of life....just being joyful.  I know that I sure feel good when I praise His name out loud.  Go ahead and "shout for joy" by saying PRAISE GOD out loud.  Let the enemy hear you as you praise His holy name.  And finally, it tells us "let those who love my name be joyful".  He wants us to have a happy and blessed life.  He doesn't want us to be depressed, sad, feeling alone or worthless....because WE'RE NOT.  We are important to the God who created EVERYTHING.  The God who loved us SO much so that He came and died for us because He loves us.  That is an unselfish and AWESOME love.  We have MUCH for which to BE JOYFUL!

Challenge #278-279 - Anything Goes

Welcome by today, everyone!  We're so glad you've stopped by to check out our challenge, and we are excited to see all the beautiful art you will create and share with us.  God has given each of us specific gifts and talents that we can use to bring Him glory, to encourage and bless others, and even for the purpose of just having fun!  Thank you for joining us.  Let's get started with our fun new challenge.

Our word art scripture for this challenge is John 12:23, and it says, "And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified".  Jesus, God in human flesh, came to this earth to fulfill a very specific ministry.  He came to minister to the people, to share His love and His wonderful plan of salvation for the sins of mankind.  When God spoke these words "The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified", He knew that the time had come for His death, burial and resurrection (the ultimate purpose of His ministry here on earth); and that He/His Father would be glorified through this.  You and I also have a purpose for being here on earth.  We each have some similar ministries (our marriages, our children/family, our jobs, etc.) and some of us have additional ministries (prison ministry, teaching Sunday School, helping those in need, praying for others, etc.).  Through our ministries, our ultimate goal should also be bringing glory and honor to God.  We don't (or shouldn't) perform our good deeds so that others will think we're awesome.  Our ministries here on earth are for the purpose of bringing glory to God, and reaching the lost world with His great love and letting others know that God loves us and died for us.  If you don't feel like you're currently being used of God, let today be the day that changes.  You can become a prayer warrior, or an encourager, or you can get involved in any number of worthy ministries.  Just like Jesus Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost, YOU and I can make a difference here on earth and bring glory to God every day by committing our lives to doing things that matter in eternity.  Let today be the day we each say "(Lord, in my life)....the hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified".
